Civilization thrived among stars

Gene mutilations were hard to fight

Then Necrontyr have Old Ones met
Those who lived long and sculpted fates
Deepest chagrin possessed their hearts
For immense length of Old Ones' lives

The War in Skies then had begun
Old Ones forced Necrontyr to run
Their greater numbers have not won the war
For Old Ones were masters of the Warp

The Necrontyr defeated were
And hatred grew towards their foe
Then found was that native sun
Held power of the great C'tan

From necrodermis - the living steel
Bodies for Gods have built Necrontyr
C'tan have accepted it with delight
Powers were granted Old Ones to smite

Maphet'ran the Deceiver, one of C'tan
Offered salvation from physical harm
From the pains and diseases the Necrontyrs' bane

Through bio transference whole race have went
They thought it will be misfortune's end,

C'tan gorged their souls - that was the price

Feeding on souls C'tan powers grew
Szarekh realized the Diviner said truth
He understood that his kin - Necrontyr
Robbed of their souls became just machines

Old Ones were failing to match Necrons' scores
Web-way was breached with Nyadra'zath's force
Galaxy was in the hands of C'tan
They and Necrons have Red harvests begun.

Whole planets razed and races devoured
C'tans' hunger for lives knew not a bound
Then legends tell that the Great Harlequin
Fooled the C'tan and they killed their kin

After this war only strongest remained
Slaughter of races made Warp inflamed
Necron empire under psykers’ attack
Unseen in the Warp such powers lack

All of the dynasties together once more
Necrons have united against common foe
Great plan of C’tan to shut off the Warp
As though meteor seemed unreal to be stopped

War of the ancients came to culmination
No living soul spared from evisceration
With their pain rose storms in the Warp
No Old Ones nor C’tan have this foretold.

Immaterium’s depths shaking with spasm
Void predators first-borns of chasm
Created and weaved from mortals’ emotions
Enslavers Plague caused great Warp distortions

This was the end to the Old Ones empire
Shattered and smitten they ceased in fire
But the Star Gods’ glee was not meant to end well
Silent King Szarekh leaded rebel

Weapons were charged, powers were aimed
Such was the strike, no C’tan could withstand
Shattered to pieces slaves they became
Necrons once fooled, now their bane

To stop the spread of Enslavers’ hordes
All life was wiped of Necron worlds

"Вобщем я столкнулся с довольно интересной и забавной ситуацией во время сессии Deathwatch прошлой ночью. Я был ГМом и рулил приключением для моих игроков - тактикала из Космоволков, опустошителя из Саламандр и такитикала в броне скаута из ордена Штормовых Стражей. Тот что из Штормовых Стражей отыгрывает невероятно стереотипного шотландца, таскает за собой волынки и говорит с выбешивающим акцентом. Его персонажа зовут Дуги МакАйзек (ну или Даги МакАйсак).




Короче, глупости в сторону, под конец приключения они сталкиваются с Хаослордом Кхорна в термираторской броне, который собирается распидорасить их. Космоволк лишается головы и вынужден сжечь фэйтпоинт(очко судьбы, чтобы не умереть), тяж. огнемёт Саламандера рванул и он валяется без сознания.



Хаослорд чарджит Даги, который при себе имеет только болт-пистолет и боевой нож. Он проводит 3 атаки, Даги уклоняется от первой в сторону и две последующих тоже идут в молоко. А затем случается это.




- Так что, я у него за спиной/с боку, да?



- Ага.



- Ок, я использую Feat of Strength(способность в игре) и поднимаю его.



- Ок, делай бросок кубиков на захват.



- Не не, я его поднимаю.



- Ты не можешь ПОДНЯТЬ терминаторскую броню.




Он показывает мне правила, и его Неестественную Силу (х3) и Стойкость (2х), так что он может подня сразу ТРИ терминаторских брони



-Ох, ладно, допустим ты поднимаешь его.



-А теперь я бросаю его как бревно (Caber Toss переводится как "Метание бревна" - национальный вид спорта в северной части Шотландии)

Он бросает кубики на силу, получается 09, а это 6 степеней успеха (его Сила - 60 + 10 от Feat of Strength), плюс Неестесственная Сила (х3) это уже 9 степеней, а потом он использует (не сжигает) 4 очка судьбы и получается 13 степеней успеха суммарно. Хаослорд Кхорна в Полной Термираторской Броне подброшен нахуй на 195 метров, ёбашится об землю и хватает 37 единиц урона с игнором брони, что достаточно чтобы прикончить его. Пришлось закончить сессию после этого, так как никто не мог дышать нормально после дикого ржача.




Я позволил ему сделать это один раз, но вообще это смотрится мальца имбово, если представить мариноса максимального уровня с раскаченой силой, то он в теории может ЖОНГЛИРОВАТЬ термираторами."

-Магнус нехило раздолбал ворота вебвея свои сообщением. Император винит Магнуса в этом, но без особой горечи, а скорее фаталистично. Прорыв был назван "глупостью Магнуса".
-Император вынужден сидеть на Золотом Троне, чтобы предотвратить поглощение Терры расколом. Позже Сестры Тишины подключают тысячу псайкеров к нему и это позволяет Императору временно покинуть трон.
-Импи, Кусты, Сестры и лояльные Мехи, все борются с Демонами в вэбвее. Мирожеры и Легио Аудакс сражаются против имперцев и никто не знает, как они туда попали.
-Император на троне на протяжении большей части книги и постоянно разговаривает с Трибуном Кустов. Он доверил ему много своих мыслей и на протяжении всей книги Трибун получает проблески из памяти Императора
-Война не идет хорошо для имперцев и демон Драк'ниен (да, тот что внутри меча Аббы будет) постоянно вселяется в людей и прыгает от тела к телу. Драк'ниен был рожден после первого убийства в истории человечества (Каин и Авель)
-Большая часть книги либо сражение с демонами, либо болтовня Импи с трибуном. Особых откровений или срывов покровов нет, как и предупреждал АДБ.
-Многие лоялы Мехи жалеют о потере Марса и в конце концов покидают императора через вэбвэй, полагая, что они могут так добраться до Марса. Это подрывает Имперские силы и Император решает запечатать портал навечно.
-Перед тем как запечатать Драк'ниена в Куста Трибуна, он говорит ему убежать в вэбвей настолько далеко насколько тот сможет. У Куста столько силы воли, что Драк'ниен не может захватить его, фактически он становится тюрьмой для демона и сейчас бродит по паутине
Общие замечания по книге:
-Немалая часть книги это описание пути от терры до ворот вэбвея. Император построил его, как действительно большую и массивную вещь, предназначенную для путешествия людей по всей галактике через них. Это что-то вроде аэропорта на стероидах и с тронным залом в качестве зала ожидания.
-Кратко описывают детство Императора. Будучи подростком неолитической эпохи из деревни на среднем востоке, он занимался подготовкой тел для похоронных ритуалов. Он наслаждался этой работой и видел ее как произведение искусства, это было аллюзией на создание Примархов. Когда он готовил труп отца, он понял, что убийство совершил дядя из-за какого-то мелкого спора. Император спокойно воспринимает это, но он идет к своему дяде и останавливает его сердце своими психическими силами.
-Император кажется не считает Примархов своими сыновьями, он называет их образцами по их номерам, Фулгрим к примеру "Третий"
-Флэшбэк императора и Архан Лэнда смотрящих на валяющегося без сознания Ангрона сразу после того, как его забрали. Они говорят, что Гвозди не могу быть извлечены, не убив его, но император холодно говорит, что в то время как Ангрон сломан, он все еще может быть полезным и не должен быть уничтожен.

Magnus ****ed over the Webway gate on Terra hard with his warning to the Emperor. Confirmed that the Emperor blames Magnus for the whole thing, but doesn't seem THAT bitter about it, more accepting and fatalistic. The breach has been named "Magnus' folly".
-The Emperor is forced to sit on the Golden Throne to avoid the rift from consuming Terra. Later on the Sisters of Silence plug a thousand psykers into it and it allows the Emperor to leave the throne temporarily.
-Emperor, Custodes, SoS, and loyalist Mechanicus are all fighting Daemons in the Webway. World Eaters and Legio Audax are now fighting the Imperials as well and nobody is sure how they got in there
-The Emperor is on the Throne for much of the story constantly talking to a Custodes Tribune. He confides a lot of his life and thoughts on him and throughout the book the Tribune gets glimpses into the Emperor's memories
-The war isn't going well for the Imperials and the Daemon Drach'yn (yes, the one inside Abaddon's sword) keeps possessing people and jumping from body to body. Drach'yn was formed after the first murder in human history (cain and abel)
-Most of the book is fighting Daemons or the Emperor confiding things to the Tribune. No grand revelations or secrets revealed, which ADB had said would be the case in advance.
-Much of the loyalist Mechanicum is bitter about losing mars and ultimately abandons the Emperor in the Webway believing they can navigate it back to Mars. This dooms the Imperial war effort and the Emperor decides to seal the portal permanently
-Before that he puts Drach'yn into the body of the Custodes Tribune and tells him to run into the Webway as deep as he can go. The Custodes has so much willpower that he is able to resist being taken over by Drach'yn and in effect is a prison for the Daemon now wandering inside the Webway
General observations/points of the book:
-Much of the book is a description of the path from Terra down to the Webway Gate. The Emperor built it to be a really grand and massive thing, intended for all humans to travel the Galaxy from it. It was going to be an airport on steroids and the throneroom was more of a lounge area.
-There is a brief glimpse of the Emperors childhood. As an adolescent in a neolithic-era middle eastern village he was charged with prepping bodies for burial rituals. He enjoyed the work and saw it as something of a work of art, it alludes to him creating the Primarchs. When prepping his dads corpse he realizes that his uncle killed him over some petty dispute. The Emperor is calm about it but goes up to his uncle and stops his heart with his psychic powers.
-The Emperor doesnt' seem to consider the Primarchs legitimate sons, he calls them specimens with their number creation. i.e. Fulgrim was "Three"
-There's a flashback to the Emperor and Arkan Land looking over an unconscious Angron right after he was taken. They say that the Butcher's Nails cant be taken out without killing him, but the Emperor coldly says that while Angron is broken he could still be useful and shouldn't be terminated.
-The Emps only did the Ullanor triumph and maintains his current "golden god" form only for pomp and PR reasons. He considers it all petty and has devoted his entire existence to the Webway Project and the manifest destiny of humanity to rule the galaxy. The Webway Project was everything to him.
-The Emperor's powers are hilarious and anime-ish. He teleports instantly, creating afterimages like things. At one point Drach'yn impales him only for his body to fizzle out in an afterimage with the Emperor already behind him. He also summons an army of "ghosts" of dead imperial servants to overrun the daemons. Ferrus is among them.
-Arkhan Land is the leader of Mechanicum forces inside the Webway. He stays loyal to the Emperor throughout and is absolutely baller. He flies around on an anti-grav land raider with volkite weapons.
-There's a wounded Blood Angel character who was part of the Crusader Host and fights with the Custodes. He's the only major space marine character in the book
-The Emperor considers the Custodes his finest work and each is a separate work of art in and of itself to him.
-It's semi-confirmed that the Custodes were the ones who purged the Thunder Warriors
-In a weirder bit it's alluded that the Emperor was the one who wrote Pinocchio. Again alluding to the creation of the Primarchs.
In the book the Emperor seems to consider Horus and the war more of a distraction/annoyance. He's singularly focused on the Webway and the greater threat of Chaos/Daemons.
