For Old Ones were masters of the Warp

The Necrontyr defeated were

C'tans' hunger for lives knew not a bound
Then legends tell that the Great Harlequin
Fooled the C'tan and they killed their kin

Slaughter of races made Warp inflamed
Necron empire under psykers’ attack

Necrons have united against common foe

Варп-путешествие.

Космические суда погружаются в варп при помощи активации варп-двигателей. Когда корабль покидает материальную вселенную, он входит в соответствующую точку варп-пространства. Затем судно несут волны и течения варпа.
После того, как корабль некоторое время путешествует таким образом, он выключает варп-двигатели и попадает назад в реальное пространство. Так как материальная вселенная и варп двигаются параллельно друг другу, корабль появляется в точке на несколько световых лет удаленной от начальной. Этот процесс называют прыжком или скачком, а процесс выхода или входа называют погружение, сдвиг или смещение.
Путешествия совершаются короткими прыжками до четырех-пяти световых лет. Более длинные прыжки непредсказуемы и опасны. Движения волн варпа имеют сложный и непоследовательный характер, и часто оказывается, что корабль, пытавшийся совершить длинный прыжок, значительно сбился с курса.
Если бы данные ограничения распространялись на все варп-путешествия, то Человечество не распространилось бы по всей галактике, как это произошло. Совершать длинные прыжки на много световых лет возможно, управляя кораблем – чувствуя, исследуя и реагируя на течения варпа и таким образом направляя судно к соответствующей точке в материальной вселенной. Только разновидность людей-мутантов известных как Навигаторы может вести судно через варп таким образом.
Некоторые индивидуумы чувствуют движение варп-пространства. Например, они иногда могут сказать, что скоро прибудут в место назначения, еще до того, как корабль выйдет обратно в материальную вселенную. Как правило, чувствительность к варпу у людей плохо развита. Однако у малой части человечества эта способность развита намного лучше. Эти люди известны как псайкеры, и способны осознанно управлять энергией варпа и использовать ее, чтобы влиять на материальную вселенную. Навигаторы обладают дарами особого рода и используют силы, которые помогают им вести корабль в варпе.
