During the scattering of the primarchs, Nekona was cast through the warp to a civilised human world called SAT1R3 in the outer corner of the galaxy. Carpinus' Speculum Historíale speaks of Nekona's world as a place of impressive technological advancement, yet governed by a cultural reverence for ancient records known as "anime" in the Old Terra's tongue. The human inhabitants of the planet took these records as their blueprint for life, shaping their clothing, architecture, language, and customs around the timeless wisdom contained within them. One wandering group discovered the infant Matriarch, and upon seeing her, the young Nekona was instantly adored. Due to corruption from the warp a pair ears and a tail, like those of a cat, emerged from her head and body. The people of the planet SAT1R3 viewed her as a miraculous physical representation of the "caf girls"depicted in their old records.
0« Although the details of Nekona's early life are lost to time and memory, the notable events of her childhood have been told and retold many thousands of times ingrained in cultural memory. Like the other Primarchs, Nekona grew to maturity at an incredible rate. After only three solar weeks she was as large as a child of three Terran years and could walk. By the time she was a standard year old, Nekona had acquired a particular interest in cooking and learning the recipes seen in the "anime" records to perfection. Apart from that, and due to her peculiar gene-seed, she could smash walls with her hands, best wild animals with but a glance and best any of the people of SAT1R3. But she wasn't interested in her physical power but her mastery in culinary craftsmanship. As Nekona reached maturity, her people prospered and where well fed under her wise guidance and delicious meals.
The Emperor, in the midst of his great crusade to reunite all the scattered worlds of Mankind, had been searching across the galaxy for His lost children and His incredible psychic powers had led Him to SAT1R3. The Emperor stood before the people of the planet and the first words exchanged between the titan and her daughter where: "who are you idiot? nyan" A heretic act indeed, but the boldness of the girl amused The Emperor and was convinced without a doubt that the Pink Cat was indeed one of his lost children. Initially hesitant to join The Emperor's great crusade, Nekona's interest was piqued when her father mentioned that she could customize her power armor to her liking. With the opportunity to decorate it in a way that expressed her personality and style, Nekona ultimately decided to join the crusade. The best of Nekona's people were subsequently selected to become Astartes. These warriors were raised up into the II Legion of the Space Marines, better known as the Space Maids, and then launched upon the Emperor's great crusade alongside those members of the Legion who had been raised from Terra.
